With the rebuild of BR Mark 1 Second Open 4785 on hold due to asbestos needing to be cleared it was decided to remove the bar from 4805 and return the 12 seats removed some time ago by its previous owners. This has meant gathering up parts removed from 4802 and the making of some parts including a centre light fitting and the “toast rack” lights over the tables.

The coach has also been repainted into a correct British Railways Western Region chocolate and cream with full decals.

This is the second coach we have finished in this livery but the first to carry passengers as part of the Santa trains.
