Are you looking for a great day out this February Half Term?

At the South Devon Railway, we will be running a special service all week using our heritage single car DMU W55000 between Buckfastleigh and Staverton. Add to that the stunning views of the River Dart at this time of year and it’ll be a real treat for the whole family. Please note that the line between Staverton and Totnes is closed for essential maintenance.

One of our steam locomotives will be positioned at Buckfastleigh too, allowing access to its footplate, or you can immerse yourself in the history of the railway and view fascinating artefacts in our adjacent Museum, including the only remaining original Brunel broad-gauge steam locomotive in the world.

Whilst you are with us, our award-winning grounds and gardens will be open at Buckfastleigh or, alternatively, alight from the train at Staverton to enjoy a walk along the bank of the river Dart and the Dartington Estate and then catch a later train back to Buckfastleigh.

The Refreshment Rooms, Expressway Models and the museum at Buckfastleigh will be open everyday.
