Loco's  5526 - 5542 pass at Staverton loop on Saturday 25th March 2006.

Visiting 'Prairie' tank 5542 went in to service over the 'Half Price Weekend' on the South Devon Railway. This gave the first chance to see the two Prairies on the line at work at the same time. Our photograph is taken from the front coach of the 11.30am ex-Totnes hauled by 5542, whilst 5526 is waiting in the loop with the 11.30am ex-Buckfastleigh. The GW green 5542 ran with the Great Western set whilst 5526 in BR black was matched to the BR Mk 1 set.Despite awful weather the trains were well loaded. The next time both 'Prairies' will be in steam together will be over the Easter Gala weekend. 5542 is owned by 5542 Ltd and is normally based on the West
Somerset Railway but is to based at Buckfastleigh for most of the 2006 season.
