 Heritage Transport Gala

Over last weekend the SDR held one of its most successful Heritage Transport Galas. Over 100 exhibitors came on the Sunday with all different makes of Bicycles, Motorcycles, Cars, Vans, Lorries (including a Steam Powered Sentinel), Buses and Coaches.

The timetable had the following locos 5526, 5542, 4160, 3803, 5786, D7612, 37321 providing a very comprehensive service with shunting demonstrations taking place in between trains at Buckfastleigh.

Outside the station three ex London Routemaster Buses were parked up together with Ron Greet's Bedford OB. Two of the Routemasters provided the SDR Heritage Bus service taking visitors on the ride around the town to visit Buckfast Abbey and the Valiant Soldier.
